Overview
This is a fixed-term contract for 4 months working full-time, Monday-Friday. Immediate start required.
Purchasing is an important function, supporting delivery of business strategy. The successful candidate will report to the Supply Chain Manager and will be an important and influential member of the purchasing team.
Working within a team of 10, the Supply Chain Planner is responsible for arranging orders of raw materials and packaging into the manufacturing site at Trowbridge to meet the production plan.
Responsibilities
- Place orders in line with plan requirements, including management of seasonal closedowns
- Build relationships with suppliers to evaluate timeliness and fulfilment of orders
- Provide forward forecasts by supplier and product to minimise availability risk
- Report stock levels versus demand including 3rd party warehouse stock
- Develop key metrics to report supplier performance and take action though a robust escalation process
- Maintain ERP system with key product and supplier information allowing effective and accurate ordering
- Manage run down of deleted materials minimising financial loss
- Support continuous improvement initiatives
About you
- Supply Chain experience in a manufacturing environment
- SAP or similar ERP system experience
- Work to timebound deadlines
- Ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Organised
- Clear communication style, able to work efficiently as part of a team.
- A Level educated or equivalent work experience.
Desirable
- Driving License
- MCIPS qualified or working towards
